During the day, your panels will collect the energy that your home will convert into electricity. At night, you’ll use the electrical grid like you always have.
Any energy your solar system generates that your home doesn’t need goes to the electrical grid. Your utility company will then credit that amount to your account, in effect paying for the energy you use at night.
